Plans For The Farm

This spring we will be planting our first crop of sustainable crops.  We are trying to determine if we want to pursue the USDA certified organic stamp.  We will be getting our fields in great shape, and planting vegetables and flowers.

We will be setting up a greenhouse.  We may possibly be selling plants, depending on how many extras we have that we will not need for planting.

We will be planting six different gardens this first year.  We are putting our gardens in smaller plots so we will not mix our seeds.  This will keep the seeds pure.  We will be using organic fertilizers as well as composting in order to raise the best possible vegetables.  So, in early summer we will harvest our first crops!  We will be selling them locally.

In the fall, we will be selling our seeds.  We will sell these both locally and online.  We will be posting our online catalog for the seeds in mid summer.

We also plan to add a high tunnel this year so we can extend our growing time.

In the future, we plan to add honeybees and sell honey.  We also plan to add strawberries, blueberries and blackberries to our farm.  Finally, we plan to add a post and mortar store with five years.
